Creative team

As director we welcome back Gareth Bevan, who directed our award-winning Pirates of Penzance in 2019.

Lee Dewsnap, HLO’s resident musical director, can do amazing things with an electronic organ – and this time he’ll have a band!

James Hall, musical supervisor, was musical director for HLO’s 2015 UK premiere of Boublil and Schoenberg’s The Pirate Queen.

Sian Bowles Bevan and Karen Gravestock will share choreography duties. Sian directed and choreographed BROS Musical Theatre’s 2022 Addams Family which swept the board at the 2022-23 artsrichmond Swan Awards. And Karen has choreographed more HLO shows than she’s had hot dinners, including our 2019 Pirates of Penzance.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are Monday evenings, 7.30pm at St Stephen’s Church Hall, Parkside Road, Hounslow TW3 2BP. Over the next few Mondays we’ll be learning music – and there’s lots of it to learn.

Once the show is cast, principal rehearsals will be Thursday evenings starting approximately late May (and full company may be called on Thursdays later). Saturday rehearsals, 10am to 3pm, will start from Saturday 17 August. They’re usually at the 3rd Osterley Sea Scouts Hut, Richmond Road, Isleworth TW7 7BU, but that could change, so watch this space! All dates to be confirmed.
